In the Fall of 2024 I took a Digital Art Class at Scripps college where we were tasked to create a final project. My final project examines the time-intensive nature of women's beauty routines, exploring the complex intersection of societal expectations, gender performance, and daily lived experience. Through intimate photographs captured with a Canon 5D Mark II DSLR Camera, I document the physical and emotional labor inherent in feminine beauty rituals. These images were enhanced in Photoshop using curves, color balance, and saturation adjustments to emphasize the nuanced relationship between women's daily beauty practices and broader societal pressures to maintain specific appearance standards.
